New Vatican Rule Said to Bar Gays as New Priests
One of the underlying assumptions of the Church's policy seems to be that homosexuality leads to pedophilia. And that by taking action against gays, they will mitigate the problem of priests abusing boys. This strikes me as, in a word, bullshit.

Thomas Plante, PhD, ... professor and chair of psychology at Santa Clara University... [says] another myth is that the problems are somehow related to homosexuality. "We know that sexual orientation doesn't predict sex crimes against minors. That doesn't quite hold water," he says.
